ESN Board Member: Deborah C. Bradley, LMFT, Ph.D.

Founder and Executive Director of The Empowered Life Development Center and a former Banker for 21 years, Dr. Bradley is amulti-talented management professional with expertise in mental health, training and development, financial consulting, policy development, community non-profit and networking in diverse communities.

She has served as Corporate Vice President; Branch Manager; and Facilitator/Trainer at financial institutions in Tennessee and California, including Third National Bank, American Savings Bank, Washington Mutual Bank, and Wells Fargo Bank.  She has presented as Guest Lecturer in Psychology at Pepperdine University and California State University, Dominquez Hills. Additionally, Dr. Bradley served as Adjunct Professor, Psychology, MFT Program at Alliant University, 2015 and 2016. In that role she helped prepare Master’s level students for community practice in mental health services. 

Other opportunities (past and present) of service to the local community include Board Member, Normandie Church of Christ of Los Angeles; Co-Chair, Education Committee – Compton/Watts Collaborative; Co-Chair, Check-Point Mentorship Program for African-American Employees, Wells Fargo; Executive Member, Project Impact; Mental Health Specialist; Wrap-Around Program Supervisor; Clinician, Crisis Team-Emergency Outreach Bureau, Department of Mental Health; Program Coordinator/Supervisor, AB109/SB82 programs (Re-entry population-correctional histories); Program Director, CSBG and G.R.O.W. Job Training Programs; Clinical Administrator, Family Preservation Program; Director, Community Wellness and Education Program; Founder, H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Pursue Excellence) Program; Supervisor for trainees and interns, mental health services;  Guest Speaker and Presenter at numerous workshops and currently Behavioral Health Director for a medical group.

Dr. Bradley currently operates a Christian -based private practice (The Empowered Life) in Inglewood, California where she provides mental health services to individuals and couples. She utilizes a holistic approach to client care – mind, body, spirit, finances. Areas of specialty include financial stress, emotional wellness, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, anger management, trauma, domestic violence, life coaching, and couples financial counseling, with a focus on both clinical and spiritual interventions. 

She has received many certificates and awards for her service to the community including the Deputy Director Award for Outstanding Service from the Department of Children and Family Services; Certificate of Appreciation in Recognition of Outstanding Contribution and Commitment to Improving the Lives of Others from Southeast Communities Prevention & Intervention Programs; Diversity Champion Award from Wells Fargo Bank, and Commendations from the County of Los Angeles. 

She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a double degree in Finance and Management (Lipscomb University); Master Degrees in Organizational Management (University of Phoenix), Psychology (Pepperdine University), and Clinical Psychology, Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy (Pepperdine University); Additionally, she holds a Ph.D. in Education, Emphasis in Cultural and Curricular Studies (Chapman University).  Dr. Bradley is grateful to God for His many blessings.
